Hi! I'm Hsien Ming, a freelance photographer based in malaysia. I do weddings/events/portrait and so on. Thanks for dropping by. email: hsi3nming@gmail.com
I still remembered 1 week before MMU’s Convo I was surfing the net and then a fb message poped out and there was a message from YJ a friend of mine who is graduating in the coming MMU Convo. The message – ‘Hey can help me take pics of my family and friends during convo?’ After replying yes then I was down to researching photos of convocations and search flickr for inspirations. So it finally was the day 1st August which was also MMU‘s 11th Convocation! It was a yearly affair and it was grand indeed! With the chancellor who is Tun Dr.Mahatir’s Wife , Tun Dr.Siti Hasmah officiating the Ceremony.
Phd, Masters, FOM, FOE
See the amount of people who is inside the hall….
Okay on with Yj’s family portraits! This was the most fun family I have ever shot! his parents , aunt, uncle, brother and sisters were all so sporting! I would never imagined how much crazy stuff they did during the entire shoot!
Had the opportunity to cover an F&N event which was held at a very cozy and chic restaurant in downtown KL. It was a Italian Restaurant whom served exquisite Italian food. The main event was F&N ‘s Teapot condense milk rebranding launch members of the media were also present. Teapot is a well knowed brand in Malaysia which is an essential ingredient in pulled milk tea or the famous Malaysian ‘teh tarik‘. This sweet and savory beverage is enjoyed by many Malaysians during tea time and almost anytime of the day and almost everywhere! It is available almost everywhere in ‘mamaks’, restaurants and so on.
Teapot’s rebranding would spark more consumers to purchase their sweet condense milk and also give the brand a refreshing new packaging.
A short play was used to entertain the guests and media during the event.
Has fortunate enough to cover an event last Friday night at this trendy restaurant. The decor and stuff was very impressive. BTW I was at the Bangsar Shopping Center (BSC) outlet the waiters and waitresses were very helpful and to the extent that the waitress refilled my plate with chocolate brownies automatically =D and not to mention the free flow of booze (carlsberg , Johnny Walker’s Black Label). You’ll also find a trendy unisex bathroom complete with a bathroom attendant offering cold towels, at your service and the washing area for your hand was a a sensor shower where waster came flowing down like its raining.
The Uber cool stools
The Bar counter with whine glasses, the cloth coasters were damn cool…
The way they arranged the napkins was quite nice too…
Went on a short day trip to Bukit Tinggi with my family. The place is a mess… apart of it being the only ‘french village’ in Malaysia other then that the food there is horrible and the prices are sky roof! Anyway managed to get some decent shots of flowers at the botanical garden and around the surrounding areas.
I made a trip to this small and peaceful village which is situated 42km NW of Kuantan , Pahang with a bunch of photo kakis. The day started with me meeting a friend in Mid Valley which at that day was also DCIM photography exhibition / fair with many vendors and visitor. Tried the canon 1dmk4 which I shamelessly fired the shutter like there is no tomorrow. Shutter sound not too bad but still I prefer Nikon D3s solid shutter sound.
Ok off then heading towards to Kuantan. First stop was bentong which Justin was to meet up with one of his clients to do some insurance servicing. Then we stoped by Karak to eat dinner. The fried pork belly Justin ordered was an eye opener was very thinly sliced pork belly deep fried and dressed with sweet marmite sauce. Finally after the dinner stoped by a shop to buy durian tart which is damn good man… Continue driving to Sg.Lembing, Justin showed off his skills of driving with the headlamp offed in a kampung road which is total darkness damn 9 scary man plus that fellow was speeding like 100km/h on the kampung road which cows might cross the road. Reached the rest house checked in and head for the sack. ZZz

The following day we went to the rainbow waterfall which I think is around 10 stories high! It was absolutely stunning! but the ride into the place we were suppose to hike was like a rollercoaster ride. we actually had to hired a local guide who drives a 4×4 to ferry us in there! the whole ride was bumpy and exhilarating! Check out the video below and you know what I mean.
The gang before we head up the waterfall.
The rollercoaster ride!
The ride lasted I think around 30 mins! imagine bumpy rocky road and not to mention the muddy piles of water which flew up and sometimes ended in my mouth -.-’
Ok time to show you guys how the waterfall looks like!
This is mine did not shoot much because I was too busy dipping in the icey cold and delicious water of the waterfall you can actually drink it wei! damn cool right? it taste exactly like spritzer’s mineral water the sweet taste! not joking!
Did I mentioned also the waterfall is also know as rainbow waterfall in mandarin.
Our gears the whole trunk of the 4×4 can easily go up to 100k?
Told you it was MAGNIFICENT
This part was like a giant massage machine which the water fell down and hit your back was so cold that I shiver! Look at the place the uncle sat that was the place which you can sit!
This was actually a small platform which we have to climb up.
On that night we had a barbecue party which was further sweeten with roasted pork bought fresh from the oven. Which was considered very famous in this town. I visited the place which they roast the pork and the smell was so so damn good which can be smelled far away!

This was the day which we was suppose to hike up Bukit Panaroma. But unfortunately my mussels of my legs let me down anyway wasn’t too disappointed because there is always another trip! Since I did not hike up I and Justin went street shooting around the peaceful town.
